How St. Jude Raises Money for Free Cancer Treatment of Kids
The most recognized charity in American households in 2019? One survey says St. Jude’s. Year after year, St. Jude raises billions of dollars. In this article’s transcription of a podcast episode hosted by the Business of Giving, St. Jude CEO, Rick Shadyac, outlined some of St. Jude’s key fundraising efforts. While St. Jude keeps some of its traditional tried and true fundraising methods like galas, “a-thons,” and mailed appeals, St. Jude’s is increasingly finding its success in the mobile-giving space.
They do so because they “want to try to make the whole notion of giving as frictionless as possible” as well as stay future-focused. St. Jude’s is “all about mobile giving and using mobile devices to interact.” For example, St. Jude has created “St. Jude Inspire,” where supporters can be inspired by compelling constituent stories that are optimized for mobile browsing. St. Jude has also run a pilot test with Amazon for supporters to give via voice activation with Alexa. At ZGIVE, our nonprofit partners continue to reiterate to us the importance of being future-focused like St. Jude on the rapidly advancing world of fundraising technology. However, this process can be time-consuming and expensive – especially for small nonprofits.
That’s why ZGIVE created a world-class digital auction platform that’s fast, easy, and affordable for nonprofits. That way, they can focus more on doing what they love.
