Business Owners’ Ages Impact Philanthropic Intentions

Business Owners’ Ages Impact Philanthropic Intentions

According to this article, Millennial business-owners are the most engaged and committed philanthropists, compared to earlier generations. More than 80 percent of recently surveyed Millennial entrepreneurs indicated that giving (time and money) is a very important activity of their lives, compared to 57 percent of Gen X and 48 percent of Boomers. This is a significant increase – and finding! It is also interesting to note that Millennial and Gen-Z entrepreneurs are 70 percent more likely to want to volunteer than Gen-Xers or Boomers.

Not only that, but younger business owners are 55 percent more likely to want to be publicly recognized for being involved in charity work in their communities. The way nonprofits engage with younger generations of donors is and will continue to change significantly.

At ZGIVE, we believe that one of the most foundational levels that are changing is fundraising technology. Younger, tech-savvy donors are more sophisticated and will expect a seamless donation and volunteer experience.
